• roxanne (daz me!) •

(promise i’ll put a photo up here soon HAHA i’m just trying to take a good one)

hullo there, internet friendz~ i’m roxanne (sometimes i call myself rox too); a sixteen year old kiddo from singapore 🙂 i can be quite an emotional mess, but when school isn’t selfishly hogging up my time, i blog, make things & take photos.

i’m atrociously terrible when it comes to introductions, both in person & especially written :/ (i actually struggle with writing portfolios for school because i cringe too much lol.) that said, here goes the 23021930th attempt (since i started my blog) to approximate the essence of myself in a bunch of typed characters strung together.

writing about myself makes me lowkey uncomfortable, so i thought it’d be better (for both of us) to just share some random facts about me 🙂

  • i’m a passionate vegetarian & although i’m not much of a cook i do post food hauls occasionally hehe.
  • i’m the proud hooman of a lovely doggo called matcha! he’s the most endearing & bright pupper ever & i could wax lyrical about him for hours. you’ll find photos of him popping up occasionally on my blog & instagram. ; – )
  • might be obvious from my blog… but i love design and pretty stuff. my aesthetic is constantly evolving? but for now it consists of mustard yellows and pale blues, quaint cafes and a lot of bright sunshine captured on camera.
  • i have a staggeringly long list of interests/hobbies (probably too many to list here); but they include dancing, photography, writing prose/poetry, art, ukulele, running, reading & baking.

i think ultimately a few facts about me aren’t really going to flesh out or define who i am but you’ll get to know much more about me from reading my blog. : – ) ANYWAY, i’m really glad you stumbled upon this hyperlink on the internet & took the time to read my thoughts!

• the blog •

as far as i can remember i’ve always been enamoured with content creation. when i was younger, i used to write magazines & film youtube videos and basically spend my time on all sorts of creative projects. (they never really saw the light of day & given their quality maybe that was for the best HAHAHAH)

however as i grew older, i gradually did less creative work, partly because i was getting progressively busy with school & life, but also because i had developed a sense of self-consciousness & didn’t really want my ideas to be half-baked & eventually fail.

the more i thought about it the more i missed creating though, & subconsciously i began taking photos & experimenting with things like flatlays. they were admittedly quite dismal in terms of aesthetic appeal HAHA but what matters is that they gradually led me to fall in love with creative projects again!

around late april in 2015, i finally pushed away fears of judgement/commitment & set up my blog! (and you can read more about my blog origins in a very outdated and cringey post here, ha.) i don’t ever regret starting this platform and i’m incredibly glad for the whole series of events that led up to it.

this blog was originally started with the intention of sharing lots of freebies and printables; and while i still love that concept it’s mostly broadened into sharing more of photography, design, & the occasional vegan food post.

tldr; at it’s simplest this blog is a rly happy and inspiring place for me to create pretty things.

i’m really happy with where it’s going at the moment & i hope every one of you who reads it feels the same way too! 🙂
